Meta used Connect to put Muse into things you carry. Muse Charm is a pendant-sized device with a screen showing your Muse, a fingerprint sensor on the edge, and no phone required; you press it and the agent answers or acts. Zuckerberg said only a handful exist and it ships for the holidays, with no price yet. Tom's Guide has a full rundown, and the 30-second demo shows the idea faster than any description.
Meta also unveiled Meta VR Glasses at $1,299 for spring 2027: about 100 grams, roughly a fifth the weight of a Quest 3, with a separate compute puck, eye and hand tracking instead of controllers, and a virtual keyboard it projects onto any flat surface. Camera-free Ray-Ban Meta audio glasses arrive October 13 at $349, and Muse is coming to all of Meta's glasses.
OpenAI upgraded ChatGPT Voice to run on the GPT-6 family and gave it access to your email, calendar and Slack. You can now tell it out loud to draft and send an email, check your calendar, build a spreadsheet or even spin up a website with checkout, from the app on your phone or computer. It is live in ChatGPT Work now; the demo shows what a hands-free workday looks like.
Anthropic reported that Claude found a previously unknown enzyme system in bacteriophages with a structure reminiscent of CRISPR. About 950 Claude agents searched DNA databases for 21 hours to spot the pattern, and human scientists then confirmed it in the lab. Nobody yet knows what the enzyme does; Anthropic says it is sharing early and that all the bench work was done by people.
Tulsee Doshi, head of product for Gemini models at Google DeepMind, said in an interview that Gemini 4 is in development and the team is focused on the next ten months. She also pushed back on the idea that Google is slow, pointing out that the last three Gemini models shipped within three weeks of each other, and positioned Gemini 3.8 Flash as the model for teams watching cost.
One Reddit user asked Claude to waste the rest of the week's token allowance on something absurd, and Claude did. It is the lightest thing in the AI news this week and a reminder that the usage limits everyone was rationing a month ago now have room to burn.

How to build an AI IT helpdesk in 15 minutes with StackAI

Sponsored. StackAI paid for this placement in our source; the steps below are real and the template is free to start.
This works for any team that keeps its IT documentation in Drive, Confluence, SharePoint or Notion and is tired of answering the same VPN question every Monday.
Log into StackAI and open the IT Support Chatbot template.
Connect the knowledge sources where your IT documentation lives: Google Drive, Confluence, SharePoint or Notion. Point it at the setup guides, policies and troubleshooting docs, not the whole drive.
Pick the model from the dropdown. OpenAI and Anthropic models are both available; a cheaper tier is fine for this job since the answers come from your documents, not the model's memory.
Test it with the questions your staff actually ask, and check that it cites the right policy and reads any attached files correctly. Try this one first:
I'm getting a 'VPN connection failed' error on my work laptop after the latest update. Walk me through the troubleshooting steps in order. Use our internal IT documentation where relevant, cite the policy or guide you're relying on, and tell me when I should escalate the issue to IT.
Deploy it where people already are: Slack, Microsoft Teams, your intranet, or an on-premises install if your security policy requires it.
Watch the escalation behavior closely in the first week; a helpdesk bot that guesses at a fix rather than handing off to IT will cost you more time than it saves.
