Learn about Claude Opus 5.5, the first model in a new family of models from Anthropic.

Anthropic released Claude Opus 5.5, which it says approaches Fable 5.1 on hard tasks at 40% lower cost on typical workloads than Opus 5. Input drops to $4 per million tokens and output to $20, and cached reads fall 60%. Anthropic also raised the five-hour usage limits on Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans and added a rate-limit reset subscribers can save for when they need it. Testers say the writing is clearer and less padded, which was the most common complaint about Opus 5. There is a prompting guide if you want to get the most out of it.

OpenAI introduced GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna, two cheaper members of the GPT-6 family. Sol is for demanding professional work at $2 per million input tokens and $10 output; Luna is for everyday tasks at $0.10 and $0.50, which OpenAI calls a 50% cut against the previous generation. Both are live in ChatGPT, Codex and the API for paid plans, and Luna is free to everyone in the desktop app. Astra stays the top tier.

Mirage launched Tesseract, a creative suite that lets an AI agent do real video editing work, with compositions, keyframes and audio, while you watch a live preview and render locally. It plugs into both ChatGPT and Claude, so the agent you already use can now cut a video rather than just describe one.

Claude's developer team published a playbook for getting the most out of Opus 5.5, covering how to prompt it, how to steer it mid-task and how to check its results. It picked up more than 5,000 bookmarks in two hours, which tells you how many people upgraded on day one.

Pocket FM released Sherpa, which it calls a Narrative World Model, built to plan and hold together long story arcs rather than single scenes. The launch video passed 6M views. If you write fiction or serialized content, it is the first model aimed squarely at you.

Bracket22, a hedge fund that runs entirely on AI agents, went viral this week after a CNBC interview in which manager Brian Kelly explained that his job now consists mostly of occasionally pressing a button. Whether or not the returns hold up, it is the clearest picture yet of what a one-person firm looks like.

How to automate new-hire onboarding with Grok Bot

This takes about half an hour the first time and a few minutes for every hire after that, because you save the whole thing as a reusable Skill.

  • Open the Grok Bot app and add the Onboarding Manager from SpaceXAI's Use Cases, or build one yourself with New, then Create new Bot.

  • Under Connectors, link the systems where your onboarding material lives: Google Drive, Notion, SharePoint, Outlook, Microsoft Teams or whichever you use.

  • Give the bot access to the specific documents it should draw on: onboarding checklists, the employee handbook, IT setup guides, policies and team documents. Keep the scope tight; the bot answers only from what you grant.

  • For each new hire, give the bot a clear brief. This one works as written:

Onboard [Name], our new [Role], starting [Date]. Build a checklist for their first week using our approved onboarding documents. Pull the relevant policies, tools, training, and team resources into one place. Answer questions only from those sources, flag anything unclear, and identify blockers that need HR, IT, or their manager. Do not send messages, create accounts, or make changes without approval.

  • Test it by asking the questions a new hire would ask in week one, and correct anything it gets wrong or cannot find. Fix the source document, not the bot, so the fix sticks.

  • Save the finished setup as a Skill so the next hire is a matter of changing the name, role and start date.

Keep the no-changes-without-approval line in the brief; a bot that can read your HR documents should not be the same bot that creates accounts or sends messages on its own.

TOOLS WORTH TRYING

4 tools catching our attention this week.

Clarify: Sponsored. A full-stack AI CRM with sourcing, outbound, enrichment and call notes built in and agents doing the repetitive work. Aimed at small sales teams; check how it imports from your current CRM before switching.

Clueso: Creates polished product videos in minutes from a screen recording, with AI handling the script, voiceover and cuts. Great for feature announcements; for anything customer-facing, watch it through before publishing.

WZRD: Documents, slides and forms you can talk to, so editing a deck becomes a conversation instead of a click-fest. Early, and best on documents that start in WZRD rather than imports.

thestory.run: A writing coach for people building a professional presence on LinkedIn and similar, focused on making posts sound like you rather than like everyone else. Useful if you post regularly; it will not write the posts for you.
